Horse Camps at Hidden Fox Farm

We host horse camps throughout the year, each designed to give riders a balance of learning, growth, and fun.

Spring Break Intensive Camp

Our Spring Break Intensive Camp is designed for students ready to take their riding seriously with focused, hands-on instruction in advanced skills, show ring preparation, and IEA competition training.

📅 Dates: March 31 - April 4, 2026 (Tuesday–Friday)
⏰ Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
💲 Cost: $200 per student

Important: All students planning to join the Fox Cubs, First Flight or IEA team in the fall must attend Spring Break Camp. Riders in grades 1–12 may register, though priority is given to Fox Cub and First Flight students. Additional spots may open if space allows.

Summer Horse Camp

Our Summer Camps are something truly special. Unlike highly scheduled camps where every minute is structured, ours are refreshingly “old school.” We believe kids thrive when given freedom to explore, play, and grow in a natural farm environment.

Campers enjoy a mix of formal instruction and unstructured time:

  • A riding lesson each day

  • A daily unmounted horsemanship lesson

  • Hands-on barn chores (because we know kids are capable of more than most camps expect!)

  • Time to run, play, and simply be kids

Add in nature walks, games, arts and crafts, sunshine, icy pops, and s’mores — and you’ve got memories that last a lifetime. It’s no wonder most campers return year after year.

📅 Summer 2026 Dates: Four sessions, released in March (spots fill quickly!)
⏰ Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
💲 Cost: $300 per camper
👧 Ages: 6–13

Note for Fox Cubs & First Flight Riders: Students on these lesson tracks must either continue weekly riding lessons in the summer or attend one week of summer camp.

IEA

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) is a national riding league for middle and high school students. In IEA, riders compete as part of a team — just like school sports. The unique part? Riders do not show on their own horse. Instead, they draw a horse at random and ride it after only a brief warm-up, testing their true horsemanship, adaptability, and skills.

Why Choose IEA Over Regular Horse Shows?

  • Team Spirit – Riders earn points for their team, creating a fun, supportive, school-sport atmosphere.

  • No Horse Ownership Required – Riders don’t need their own horse to compete, making it more affordable and accessible.

  • Skill-Based Competition – Because everyone rides unfamiliar horses, the focus is on the rider’s ability — not on the quality of the horse.

  • College Opportunities – IEA competitions are modeled after collegiate riding, giving students a head start and connections for riding at the college level.

Requirements To Join the Hidden Fox Farm IEA Team

  • Must be in grades 4-12.

  • Must have a minimum of 6 months professional riding lessons.

  • Must be on the Fox Cub or First Flight riding track and have earned the Orange achievement card or higher.

  • Additional costs apply.

Legacy Horse Program

The Legacy Horse Program is Hidden Fox Farm’s unique way of bridging the gap between lesson horses and full horse ownership. Through this program, select riders are paired with a specific horse for a long-term lease arrangement, giving them the chance to experience what it’s like to have “their own horse” without the full financial commitment of buying one.

Benefits

  • Consistency & Partnership – Riders develop a stronger bond and deeper skills by working with the same horse every ride.

  • Show Readiness – A dedicated horse gives students the confidence to step into more advanced shows, competitions, and even fox hunting.

  • Hands-On Learning – Riders take on greater responsibility for their horse’s care, building valuable life skills.

  • Cost-Effective Alternative – Families enjoy many of the benefits of horse ownership without the upfront purchase or long-term risks.

Requirements

  • Completion of at least one full year on the Fox Cubs track.

  • Must hold the Blue Achievement Card.

  • Move up to the First Flight track and commit to at least one year in the program.

  • Ability to cover the monthly program fees and related care costs.

  • Availability to spend ample time at the barn to bond with the Legacy Horse.
